Good Friday could perhaps be the most dangerous day in Walford (other than Christmas Day, of course). So, we’ve decided to have a look at Good Friday’s past in Walford over the last eleven years.
2016 – Janet Mitchell goes missing
Tonight’s episode of EastEnders sees Phil’s downward spiral continue, resulting in Janet Mitchell going missing.
2015 – Kat Moon attempts to commit suicide
Last year’s Good Friday episode of EastEnders saw a suicidal Kat Moon try to take her own life. The emotional scenes helped to set the wheels in motion for their new spin-off show, airing later this year.
2014 – Lucy Beale is murdered
Good Friday 2014 kicked off EastEnders’ biggest whodunnit ever when Lucy Beale was murdered in her own home by her half-brother Bobby Beale.
2013 – Liam Butcher is arrested and questioned
When Liam Butcher got involved in a gang three years ago, he was arrested and questioned. Leading to a series of even worse events – such as his stabbing.
2012 – Andrew and Dot Cotton are told to keep away from Heather’s funeral.
After Heather’s murder, Shirley didn’t know who to blame and was distraught at losing her best friend. So, she told Dot and Heather’s fiancee, Andrew, to stay clear of the wedding.
2011 – Heather Trott’s online love (‘Kevin68’) is revealed to be Ben Mitchell
After finally thinking she’d found her one true love online, Heather Trott was crushed to discover twisted Ben Mitchell was behind the account… Little did she know one year later he’d whack her over the head with a photo frame and kill her.
2010 – Jack Branning’s health deteriorates after he is shot and Danny Mitchell’s true colours are revealed
Good Friday 2010 saw a double whammy of bad news – the aftermath of the R&R shooting saw the Brannings on tenterhooks as to whether or not Jack would make it out alive and Danny Mitchell was revealed to be plotting something evil with Glenda.
2009 – Lauren Branning stands on trial
The Branning family waited anxiously in 2009 to find out the verdict following Lauren Branning running over her dad Max.
2008 – Max Branning is buried… alive!
In order to get revenge on Max, Tanya Branning decided to bury him, alive (sparking over 100 complaints to Ofcom).
2007 – Ben Mitchell continues to be abused by Stella
Phil Mitchell’s wife-to-be, Stella, continued to abuse little Ben Mitchell.
2006 – Ben Mitchell goes missing
Phil and Ian put their differences aside on Good Friday 2006 to attempt to find missing Ben Mitchell.
2005 – Sonia decides to give up her and Martin’s daughter
Sonia told Martin on Good Friday 2005 she was putting Chloe up for adoption, whether he liked it or not.
