Kristian Kiehling, who plays market inspector Aleks Shirovs, has left EastEnders, EBSP can confirm.

Kiehling made his final appearance in tonight’s visit to Walford (April 16), which saw Aleks, his wife Marta and daughter Ineta flee Walford after Tamwar phoned the police on him – which brought his time on EastEnders to a close.

Aleks’ first scenes aired in January 2014 and was one of the many characters introduced under Dominic Treadwell-Collins to bring life back to Bridge Street market.

Aleks’ departure was not officially announced, however, an EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to Digital Spy: “We can confirm that Aleks has now left Walford. We wish Kristian all the best for the future.”

EastEnders continues tomorrow night at 8pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
