Dot goes on trial for Nick’s murder, next week on EastEnders.
Having just buried her dear husband Jim; the time has come for widowed pensioner Dot Cotton (June Brown) to go on trial for the murder of her son Nick (John Altman) after she supplied him with the dodgy drugs that ultimately led to his death.
Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb (Ricky Norwood), Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson), Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Max Branning (Jake Wood) look on as the proceedings begin.
Viewers will remember that Stacey (Lacey Turner), Martin (James Bye) and Kush (Davood Ghadami) discovered Nick’s lifeless body during live week in the nod to EastEnders’ very first scene, 30 years ago. As Dot sits in the dock, Stacey is obviously feeling the pressure when questioned by Barrister Helen Stritch (Jaye Griffiths) about what happened that fateful night.
With Dot now changing her plea to ‘Not Guilty’, what will the verdict be?
After years of Nick’s abuse, Dot said that she had allowed Nick to die because of all the suffering he had caused. Will her own grandson Charlie (Declan Bennett), Ian (Adam Woodyatt), Sharon (Letitia Dean) and Fatboy who were all covering for Dot, also be called to testify?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday, May 8th at 8pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
