EastEnders actor Nitin Ganatra, who plays Masood Ahmed, has revealed he is hoping his alter-ego will become romantically involved with Kathy Beale upon her return to Albert Square later this year.
Speaking to Radio Times, the actor said: “I would love Masood to get together with Kathy. Partly because I’ve already been Gillian Taylforth’s love interest in a show we did together for ITV called Jane Hall.
“We were doing a lot of on-screen bonking! She’s a great actress, very watchable and a lot of fun to work with.”
Ganatra continued: “I’d also be interested to see what the dynamic would be. I think it’d be different to what we’ve seen before, which is Masood being bossed around by women.
“I reckon Masood would be the tearaway while Kathy would be the reasonable one. It would be fun if it was Kathy trying to tame Masood.”
Kathy Beale return to EastEnders after a fifteen year absence in February, when she was brought back to life after being killed in a car crash off-screen, nine years previously.
EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
