Star of stage and screen, Paul Nicholas, may be recognised mostly for his role as Vincent Pinner in TV Sitcom, Just Good Friends.

Gavin will play a major role in Kathy’s return storyline in scenes which will be aired later this year.

Older viewers may remember that Gavin was also believed to have died in the car crash, alongside Kathy. However, as we saw in February, Kathy didn’t die and nor did Gavin.

Nicholas has said, “I am delighted to be joining the wonderful cast of EastEnders for what is going to be an exciting time ahead. I can’t wait to get started and seeing what’s in store for my character.”

Executive Producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins has also commented, “We are all thrilled that Paul has agreed to join our cast to play Gavin. So many British television viewers have grown up with Paul Nicholas so it’s brilliant to have him back on our screens, playing a major part in Kathy’s explosive return to the Square, while also holding the key to many more of the Square’s secrets.”

What exactly does Gavin have to do with Kathy’s “death”? And how much does Phil know?

Paul Nicholas’ first scenes air later this year, along with Kathy Beale’s return to the Square.
