After a five year return, Lindsey Coulson has decided to leave the BBC One soap again.
Coulson will film her final scenes as Carol Jackson in the coming weeks, with the scenes expecting to air later in the year.
Speaking about her decision to leave, “I’ve had a fantastic time playing the formidable Carol Jackson and although I’ll miss everything about EastEnders, I feel the time is right for me to move on.”
Since Carol’s return, she has been involved in some big storylines which include; the death of her son, Billie, her breast cancer, along with another on-off relationship with David Wicks.
Executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins has said, “EastEnders has always been so lucky to have an actress of Lindsey’s calibre in the company. We were thrilled when she signed for another year to play Carol’s breast cancer story – and Lindsey’s nuanced, brave and utterly real performance rightfully won her an award and praise from viewers, charities and women who have been through similar experiences to Carol.”
Despite leaving the show, the door will be kept open for a potential return in the future.
