Ofcom has received a total of 29 complaints over last night’s EastEnders as Carol Jackson visited her brother in prison.
When Carol found out Max had told Stacey that Abi killed Lucy, she visited Max and called him a “complete and utter bastard”
An Ofcom spokesman told Digital Spy: “We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”
Several fans were confused about Carol’s choice of language and questioned whether or not it was allowed:

In a tweet which has now been deleted, the episode’s writer said: “Sorry if Carol’s choice of word offended anyone in tonight’s Enders. First time in a soap I’ve been allowed to write that word”
However, many fans were quick to reassure the writer that Carol’s language was called for:
@DaranLittle Offend me!? No! It was amazing! Feisty Carol is the best Carol…

In fact, one fan thought that the writer should have used a stronger word:
@DaranLittle offended? There wasn't another word that could've described him, except cunt. I'd have used that.
