Kathy’s return begins, next week on EastEnders!
During February’s 30th anniversary live week, viewers were shocked as Kathy Beale appeared on our screens, despite us believing that she had died in South Africa. Since then, we’ve heard very little from Kathy, other than a few phone calls and meet-ups with Phil Mitchell.
A distressed Kathy rings Phil once again, next week, and tells him that she’s waiting for him in The Arches. Phil is no doubt shocked, as it’s a huge risk for Kathy to appear in Walford, where family and residents believe she’s dead.
Once Phil arrives, she tells him that she’s in trouble, and begs for his help. She’s thought of a way for her to ‘come back from the dead’ and return to the Square, as we know she’s wanted to do, as she said in February. Does this have something to do with her husband, Gavin Sullivan (Paul Nicholas).
Later in the week, Sharon grows suspicious of Phil’s actions and discusses his behaviour with Ian.
Kathy once again rings Phil, with “K” appearing on his phone. A suspicious Sharon decides to grab Phil’s phone, who immediately tries to get it back.
Sharon’s son, Denny, hears fighting and walks in to witness Phil forcing Sharon to get his phone back.
With Denny gone, a furious Sharon holds Phil’s phone, and demands to know who “K” is.
Thinking he’d convinced Sharon, Phil heads off to meet with Kathy at a train station.
Unknowingly to him, Sharon and Ian have followed him and are watching to see who Phil is meeting.
Sharon impatiently storms over and immediately confronts Phil.
Luckily for her and Phil, Kathy is waiting for Phil from a distance, and out of sight of Ian and Sharon.
Will Ian and Sharon bust Phil and spot Kathy?
EastEnders airs these scenes all next week, on BBC One.
