Last night’s visit to Albert Square had many fans confused about Charlie Cotton’s fate, as Declan Bennett made his final appearance on the soap.
In July we announced that EastEnders bosses had decided to write out Bennett from the flagship BBC soap and Charlie made his final appearance last night (September 24th).
Charlie’s final scene
Whilst Charlie departed Walford earlier this week, he decided to come back and fight for custody for his son, Matthew. As he began to threaten his wife Ronnie with her killer secret, she turned to desperate measures and her and Vincent decided to deal with Charlie, once and for all.
Here’s how twitter reacted:
I mean, i don't like Charlie either, but that's no reason to kill him… Ronnie needs to chill. #EastEnders

If Charlie's dead, that's Dot's husband Jim, son Nick and grandson who've all died in a very short space of time. Poor Dot. #EastEnders

So have Ronnie and Vincent bumped off Charlie? Surely she hasn't killed again #EastEnders
