The Beales struggle to cope, next week on EastEnders.
In scenes soon to air; Ian finally returns to the Square with Bobby, but their arrival doesn’t go smoothly.
Everyone is talking about the recent events of Max’s trial and Bobby is none too pleased and lashes out at Jane when he overhears a journalist talking to her about the trial in the cafe.
Fans will remember Ian’s breakdown years ago which resulting to him living rough and it seems that the pressure of coping with the facts surrounding Lucy’s death have become too much for him to handle.
It isn’t long before Ian decides he can’t take any more and disappears again. The pressure of keeping Bobby’s secret is weighing heavily. He leaves Jane a suicide note and in a panic, she rushes out to try and find him.
Images show an upset Jane kneeling by Lucy’s grave, as she tries her best to find her husband to stop him from making a huge mistake.
Suspense heightens as we later see Ian standing on a bridge threatening to jump.
In pictures released last month, Adam Woodyatt was seen filming these scenes in London’s Olympic Park with Laurie Brett and Gillian Taylforth.
Jane finds him and frantically tries to talk him down.
As Ian listens to her desperate pleas; he is shocked when he sees his mum Kathy, who he believes died in a tragic car accident years ago.
It has not yet been revealed how Kathy finds out about Ian’s suicide attempt, but she races to her son’s side, determined to talk him out of ending his own life.
Dominic Treadwell-Collins has said: “We had to make it difficult, interesting and emotional. There are a lot of twists and turns coming all the way between now and a very, very big Halloween.”
EastEnders airs these scenes on 5 & 6 October on BBC One and BBC One HD.
