EastEnders’ excecutive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has teased more about Kathy and her husband Gavin’s full-time return to the Square.
Speaking to the Sun’s TV supplement, Treadwell-Collins said: “Paul Nicholas has created someone so chilling in Gavin. He’ll be a big part of this show going into the new year. He’ll manipulate Ben, as well as Kathy. The most exciting thing is that Gavin’s rooted in the Square’s history – not just for the Beales and Mitchells, other people are going to have crossed him in the past.
“Kathy will finally settle back into normality. Since Phil has never been happy with Ben’s sexuality, what’s Mum coming back going to do for Ben? Will this softer figure in his life help him to say who he really is? Then there’s the fact that Kathy’s cute grandson killed her granddaughter Lucy – it’s going to be potent.”
