Phil Mitchell spirals out of control

During the past few weeks, EastEnders has hinted that Phil has turned to drink in his efforts to cope with his recent kidnapping by Gavin, and we will soon see that he makes no effort to hide this when he is spotted openly drinking in The Albert.

Later, Billy tries to help Jay get Phil out of the bar before Sharon sees the state he is in, but they are too late and Sharon, along with Aunt Sal, walk in.

Phil tries to come to terms with the effects of his kidnapping by drinking whiskey. Is this the beginning of another bout of depression and anger for the Walford hardman?
