Stacey’s behaviour reaches new heights, next week on EastEnders.
This Christmas, viewers saw Stacey starting to behave strangely after giving birth to baby Arthur.
It has been reported that she will suffer from the mental illness ‘Postpartum Psychosis’.
The illness, which can cause hallucinations along with irrational thoughts, is often triggered when someone already has a previous mental health condition such as bipolar disorder, which viewers have seen Stacey battle for years.
After learning more about Kyle and Charlie suffering a fatal heart attack, her erratic behaviour grows. She becomes paranoid and continues to shut out those who care for her.
Eventually things become too much for her to handle; and convinced that her son has been sent by God, she finds herself drawn to the roof of the Queen Vic, where her husband Bradley died years before.
Stacey holds Arthur close to her, keeping him safe.
Concerned about Stacey and her whereabouts, Martin tries to call her.
Martin, Tamwar and Nancy soon find Stacey on the roof of the Vic.
Martin tries his best to calm Stacey down to stop her from doing something she’ll regret.
After trying to persuade her to give him their son, Stacey eventually hands baby Arthur to Martin.
However, Martin is still terrified that Stacey will hurt herself.
Stacey finally listens, and Martin holds Stacey and Arthur close and it appears the worst is over…for now.
Martin knows that Stacey’s still unwell, and remains concerned about her behaviour
Nancy and Tamwar also remain worried for her, and ask Martin how she is.
EastEnders airs these scenes on 11th and 12th January, on BBC One and BBC One HD.
