Stacey’s downward spiral continues, with those around her finally realising that she desperately needs to seek medical attention, next week on EastEnders.
Last week, we watched as Stacey was persuaded to return to Walford – by a vision of her late uncle Charlie. But the trauma of Charlie’s death coupled with the confusion surrounding her new found brother Kyle, will bring more heart break and confusion for her.
As the Slater family gathers for Charlie’s funeral, Stacey is left feeling more and more withdrawn as events unfold around her.
Kat talks to Stacey and tries to comfort her.
Jean is delighted to see her grandson Arthur.
Stacey panics once again when she sees Kyle at the wake.
Kyle, Martin and Jean are left confused as an erratic Stacey backs away from her brother when she sees him in the Vic.
The penny drops for Jean and realises that her daughter is unwell and is furious with Martin for not telling her.
Stacey leaves the Vic and seeks refuge with Shabnam and Kush.
Martin follows her and tries to reassure her that he is there for her and that things will be all right.
Martin finally convinces her that she needs help, and takes her to the hospital-but will Stacey be strong enough to go in?
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has said: “Stacey’s mental health story will be one of our biggest storylines as we explore Stacey’s bipolar disorder and its effects on her and those closest to her.
“We have always had a big commitment to Stacey’s story and this time we want to explore the effects of postpartum psychosis on those with bipolar – something which, although a rare illness, is unfortunately more common when mothers with bipolar give birth.”
EastEnders airs these scenes January 19th and 21st on BBC One and BBC One HD.
