Former Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi joins EastEnders cast as Shakil Kazemi

Shaheen Jafargholi, 19, competed in Britain’s Got Talent seven years ago – when he impressed judges with his rendition of The Jackson 5’s ‘Who’s Lovin You’.

Shakil is 15 years old and is the son of Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford) and brother to Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami).

Shakil arrives in Walford determined to reunite his parents, despite them previously divorcing and his dad moving on with a new partner.

He later moves to the Square to be closer to his family, and ends up finding romance of his on soon after.

Speaking about his role, Jafargholi said: “I’m so excited to be joining the show. I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid so to now be a part of something so iconic is an honour.

“I’m also really excited to be working with a legend such as Bonnie Langford. I’m having so much fun playing her son and can’t wait for people to finally meet Shaki.”

Shaki arrives in Walford later this Spring.
