Phil Mitchell’s world is once again turned upside down when his son disappears. Has Ben gone after the man he saw at the station or has something more sinister happened?
Viewers have seen Ben suffer over the guilt he feels about what happened to Paul. He’s refused to open up about that fateful night, despite Jay and Johnny trying to convince him to tell the police everything. Ben is once again in turmoil – torn between telling the truth and the feeling that Phil will never accept the fact that he is gay. With Johnny’s support, he made a statement to police and was told that there were leads. Ben was later called to identify possible suspects, but didn’t recognise any of them. Upon leaving the station, he sees one of the men who attacked them driving away.
Sharon fusses round Phil as he tells her that Ben has disappeared. She then comes up with a plan of her own to find Ben. Somehow, we don’t think Phil will be pleased once he discovers what it is!
Shirley is the one who breaks the news to Kathy that Ben is missing and that Phil doesn’t want the police involved.
Sharon confides in Jane, who has recently returned home, and reveals that she has contacted Grant and asked him to help them find Ben.
Later, Sharon is surprised to find Grant leaving the police station. Has he gone against Phil’s wishes and told the police that Ben has gone missing?
EastEnders airs these scenes next week on BBC One and BBC One HD.
