EastEnders gave fans a blast from the past in scenes broadcast last night on BBC One, when Courtney Mitchell and her dad Grant returned.
Courtney, who is 19 and in her first year at University, is now played by Alice Nokes, after having previously being played by Megan Jossa.
The character was last seen on-screen more than ten years ago and now she’s back fans can expect some more juicy Mitchell drama.
Speaking about her new role, Nokes said: “I’m in the show for a few episodes and we’ll have to see about the future. I had such a fun time filming there.”
“Courtney has a lot of fun while she’s there but I think she learns a lot of lessons. She learns how much she needs her family and how important family is – especially for the Mitchells. Drama follows Courtney wherever she goes, so expect lots of that in the next few weeks. There are some juicy storylines coming up.”
“I think Courtney is a very similar character to myself. She’s quite feisty and definitely has the Mitchell side in her. She’s not a mean girl, she’s not malicious. She’s very kind-hearted and very much like her mum, Tiffany. I think she’s vulnerable, but in an endearing way. However, Courtney is confident and likes a party!”
In scenes set to air tonight, viewers will see Courtney catch up with her dad, who, like her, is also harbouring a secret.
Will the truth be revealed?
Tune in tonight at 8pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
