At last, more than two years since EastEnders viewers discovered Kat Moon had a long-lost son, his identity has been revealed in the brand new BBC One spinoff titled ‘Kat & Alfie: Redwater’.

After arriving in the picturesque seaside town Redwater, Kat and Alfie began their search for her long-lost son.

Kathleen, as she now seems to be know, began to have her suspicions of any man in his early thirties. She began to become adamant that a man called Andrew was her son. However, it didn’t take long before viewers discovered her son’s identity.

Dermott Dolan, the village’s priest, was revealed to be Kathleen’s son in gripping scenes which culminated in the show’s very first death.

Kathleen Moon’s son Dermott Dolan.

It transpired that Redwater’s resident farmer Lance Byrne and his wife Agnes had known of Dermott’s dark past, yet chose to hide it from him. His adoptive mother – who chose to keep the fact her son was not biologically hers from her husband – died in a boating accident 21 years ago.

After discovering of Lance’s betrayal to him, Dermott lashed out, drowning him in the sea – not before saying a quick prayer, of course.

Shortly after the murder and subsequent funeral, Dermott revealed to Kathleen he was her son. After discovering his whole life has been a lie, will Dermott be able to connect with his newly discovered mother, or is he eyeing her up as his next victim?

Kat & Alfie: Redwater continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
