After twelve years, over nine hundred episodes and seventeen ‘doof doof’ cliffhangers, Lorna Fitzgerald is finally bowing out of her role as Abi Branning in emotional scenes next week.
Abi’s fate was sealed following a fall from the Queen Vic rooftop on Christmas Day, when she was later declared brainstem dead.
Despite doctors telling Max there was nothing more they could do, he got a court order, determined that there was still hope.
But it would seem Max finally comes to his senses, realising her condition is incurable, he makes the difficult decision to turn off her life support.
The emotional scenes play out all next week, concluding on Friday 19th January at 8pm on BBC One, when Abi finally passes away.
Meanwhile, Jacqueline Jossa, who plays Abi’s sister Lauren, confirmed she was yet to film her final scenes for the soap and would depart in February – but remained tight-lipped on her exit storyline.
